Butler County Water Festival
The annual Butler County Children’s Water Festival, held at Miami University Hamilton Campus, engages over 1,000 4th, 5th and 6th graders with exciting hands – on activities to teach them all about the importance of water! The presentations range from information and hands on activities about our local aquifer to the impact that our decisions have in conserving our natural resources for the ecosystem and watersheds around us. The Groundwater Consortium, along with other partner organizations such as Butler County Soil and Water Conservation District, The Cincinnati Zoo, Raptors Inc, Miami Conservancy District, and more come together to create an exciting field trip that gets children interested in the environment, water and natural sciences while having fun along the way! The festival is a great way to educate our youth about their environment and what they can do to help protect the environment for future generations.
The Water Festival will be held on January 19th 2024. If you are a teacher in Butler County Ohio interested in bringing your students or are interested in being part of the team, either as a presenter or volunteer, please contact:
