Earth Day

Earth Day

Earth Day Event

Learn about protecting the planet!  The Groundwater Consortium, along with the Butler County Storm Water District, Butler County Soil and Water,  MillerCoors, and several other sponsors come together to celebrate Earth Day.  The informational and celebratory festival is held annually in front of the Government Services Center on High Street. In addition to the free food and tree saplings given out, the festival has information on conservation and preservation of our natural resources – including information on composting rain gardens, Butler County’s aquifer and the importance of recycling and the proper disposal of waste. We are also fortunate to have “The World Beneath Your Feet” an educational exhibit created with the help of the Cincinnati Museum Center that shows kids and adults what goes on as they walk ‘underground’ through a revamped trailer. The exhibit is complete with plant roots above, an aquifer, fossils and storm drains.

This is an exciting and fun opportunity to be involved. Hamilton’s next Earth Day event will be April 20, 2012 and planning starts early! If you are interested in lending a hand, please contact:
